Two-session course: Neuroinclusive education in practice
Neurodivergent students often face obstacles that can limit their ability to reach their full potential. This course offers both practical and theoretical insights into making education more neuroinclusive. You will learn how to design education, learning environments, activities and assessment in ways that are more accessible to everyone, and how to create an environment that supports neurodiversity and inclusion.
Who is this course for?
This course is intended for professionals working in higher education, including deans, programme directors, members of Boards of Examiners and Education Programme Committees, teachers, lecturers, study and student advisers, and education development officers.
For this course, we welcome two experts from Tilburg University to Maastricht: Dr Hanne Jacobs and Dr Jo Bervoets. They will provide the training on 10 November 2026 from 09:00 to 16:00 and on 3 December 2026 from 13:00 to 16:00.
Please note that by registering, you are signing up for both sessions and are expected to attend the full course. It is not possible to attend only one session or part of the training. If you have any questions or would like more information, please send us an e-mail.
This activity may count towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) if relevant to your situation.
Intended Learning Outcomes:
After participating in this CPD activity, you will:

- … be able to evaluate and apply methods of inclusion and accessibility;
- … be able to design neuroinclusive innovations that you can directly apply in your own work or teaching.

Dr. Hanne Jacobs (Tilburg University): associate professor and researcher autism.
Dr. Ir. Jo Bervoets (Tilburg University): researcher autism and neurodiversity, teacher and expert by experience.

EDLAB is currently offering all professional development activities free of charge. Please note however that we have paid to develop and offer this session together with the trainers, so if you sign up but cannot attend, we would greatly appreciate it if you could give us at least 5 days’ notice so that we can advertise your spot to others who may be interested. Cancellation without at least 5 days’ notice or failure to show up may result in your department being charged the full cost price.
EDLAB reserves the right to postpone this event should a minimum of 6 participants not be reached.
